Strengthening Occupational Health and Safety Culture: Inspection and Awareness Visit to the Algerian Qatari Steel Company in Jijel
In the context of promoting a culture of occupational health
and safety and consolidating prevention principles within the workplace, the
Algerian Qatari Steel Company received, on June 9, 2026, a delegation from the
Labor Inspectorate of Jijel Province, led by the Provincial Labor Inspector,
along with representatives of the National Social Insurance Fund for Salaried
Workers (CNAS). This visit took place within the framework of an inspection and
awareness campaign that also included sensitization meetings on the importance
of complying with occupational health and safety standards within enterprises.
During this visit, the delegation proceeded to the control
room of the Direct Reduction Unit, where they were given an on-site overview of
the various measures and procedures implemented to ensure workers’ safety and
prevent occupational risks. They also examined the working conditions within
the unit and the means in place to protect both personnel and assets, while
receiving detailed explanations on the monitoring and control systems governing
production operations and the high level of operational safety and risk
prevention they provide, thereby contributing to a safe and healthy working
environment.
An awareness session was also organized on this occasion,
focusing on the importance of preventing occupational hazards, reinforcing the
culture of safety in the workplace, and emphasizing the role of continuous
awareness in reducing workplace accidents and improving working conditions.
This visit is part of the media and awareness campaign on
occupational health and safety, and it reflects the importance of cooperation
between various stakeholders in spreading a culture of prevention and promoting
safe practices, contributing to a secure and sustainable working environment
while safeguarding the health and safety of all employees.
